Philanthropy
ALPHA CHI OMEGA’S PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS ARE ROOTED IN GENEROSITY, COMPASSION AND COMMITMENT TO OUR SISTERS AND THE GREATER GOOD.
The 1992 Alpha Chi Omega National Convention marked the adoption of domestic violence awareness–an issue that affects people all over the world–as our national philanthropy. We work to fight against unhealthy relationships. Members serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence through fundraising and sharing gifts of time and talent with shelters and other service-providing organizations. Alpha Chi Omega also works to empower its members by giving them tools to build their own healthy relationships. We raise awareness of domestic violence by educating others on its impact, the work being done to end it, and how they can contribute to end domestic violence and support domestic violence survivors.
Walk-A-Mile
Every year, we hold our Walk-A-Mile charity event at PSU. We invite friends, family, and community members to join us as we raise awareness for domestic violence. We encourage all participants to try walking a full mile around the park blocks with us in heels, as a symbol of the struggle many domestic violence survivors face.
All proceeds raised at the event go to the Bradley Angle House here in Portland.

Burgers and Fries
Another annual fundraiser we love to do is "Burgers and Fries with Alpha Chi's." Each winter term, we host a fun dinner to raise money for local shelters, with generous donations by community members, restaurants, and other kind businesses.
In 2019, our chapter was one of 25 collegiate chapters to receive a Purple Purse from the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse fundraiser, designed by Serena Williams. We were able to raffle it off and donate all proceeds to the Raphael House!
